Water Treatment Chemical Granulation
Dust-free granules and pellets for dry industrial and wastewater treatment chemicals and blends.
D&A Granulation can turn dry water and wastewater treatment chemicals into dust-free granules or pellets by roll compaction and pelletizing, so they handle cleanly and feed and dissolve more consistently.
Many dry treatment chemicals are sold as fine powders that dust when bags are opened, bridge in feeders and dissolve unevenly. Industrial and wastewater treatment programs depend on steady dosing, and a sized granule or pellet is easier to meter than a powder.
Where dry granulation fits in water treatment
- Industrial and cooling water - dry products and blends for water treatment programs.
- Wastewater treatment - pH and alkalinity adjusters, mineral salts and dry blends used in treatment.
- Formulators and private-label blenders - granulating or pelletizing a dry blend so it doesn't segregate in the bag.
What a granular or pellet form can change
- Less dust for operators and in the plant.
- Better flow through dry feeders and hoppers.
- More predictable dissolution, set by granule size or pellet density.
- Higher bulk density, so less freight and storage per pound.
- No segregation in multi-component dry blends.
Our process
We use dry processes only: roll compaction, then milling and screening to your size range, or pelletizing on a 100 HP California Pellet Mill. We check particle size distribution against your spec and track every lot. Minimum batch is around 750 lbs. See dry granulation, pelletizing and how toll processing works.
Frequently asked questions
Why use granules instead of powder for water treatment chemicals?
Granules dust less, flow more consistently through dry feeders and dissolve at a more predictable rate, which makes dosing easier to control.
Can you make pellets for slow dissolution?
Pelletizing produces a dense 2.5 to 5.0 mm pellet, which generally dissolves more slowly than powder or loose granules. A trial run is the best way to confirm the dissolution rate for your chemistry.
What should I send for a trial?
The material name and SDS, your target form and size range, and the annual volume. We'll confirm whether the chemistry suits dry roll compaction or pelletizing before scheduling a trial.
Have a dry treatment chemical that dusts or doses unevenly?
Send the material and batch size. We'll tell you whether it suits roll compaction or pelletizing.
Send us the material. We’ll run it.
Send the form and we'll reply within one business day with next steps and trial-run options.
